Water Main Flushing Announcement
Eastsound Water will be conducting a routine flushing of the water mains in the area of Blanchard, Seaview, Mountain View, Bunny, Donahue, Nina, Aeroview, Terri, Michael, and Timber Lane. This will happen on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 4 and 5. This will create off-colored water throughout the flushing area, and potentially beyond. Eastsound Water is not shutting off water meters during this flushing. Even the off-colored water is safe. Routine flushing helps improve and maintain water quality.
In the area of flushing, it would be prudent to minimize daytime water use during these days. Eastsound Water recommends the following preparations:
- Put up several pitchers of drinking water Monday evening.
- Do not run your dishwasher or washing machine between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday.
- If you experience cloudy water after 5 p.m., flush your water lines from an outdoor hose bib until the water clears.
- Try to avoid using hot water between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to avoid bringing cloudy water into your hot water heater.
