2023 Rate Change Announcement
Eastsound Water’s new 2023 rates go into effect on all bills sent this month (Feb 2023).
Understanding Our Water Rates
There are two components to your Eastsound Water bills:
- Your Base Rate
- Your Consumption Rate
1. Base Rate: Your base rate is calculated from your previous calendar year’s water usage. For 2023, your base is $16 per 1,000 gallons. The minimum base rate fee will be $45 per month.
2. Consumption Rate: Your consumption rate is applied to your water usage during the current billing year. For 2023, your consumption rate will be $8 per 1,000 gallons.
New Memberships: The cost of a new Eastsound Water membership will be $14,500 per Impact Unit starting on January 1st, 2023.
Note: A single-family home requires 1.0 Impact Units. A commercial building requires 1.75 Impact Units.
Paper Billing Fee: Per our membership Policies & Procedures document section 6.3.1, a $5 service charge will be assigned to each paper bill we have to print and mail. If you currently receiving a paper bill and would like to avoid this service fee, go paperless (email only) by calling the office today.
